As an exam which is notorious for having a 10% passing rate, it can feel like an uphill battle when you start preparing for it. Additionally, it can raise a lot of concerns and worries about how and what you should be focusing on.

1.Working within the Time Constraints

The postal exam 473 is completely time limited. All answers are divided into sections to make them easier to answer, but you have to manage your time wisely. The following is the breakdown of the sections and the time you will be given to answer them all:

  • Part A – Address Checking – 60 Questions to answer within 11 minutes
  • Part B – Form Completion – 30 Questions that will be answered in 30 minutes
  • Part C – Section 1 – Coding – 36 Questions to answer in 6 minutes
  • Part C – Section 2 – Memory – 36 Questions that will be answered in 7 minutes
  • Part D – Personal Characteristics and Experience Inventory – 236 Questions to be answered in 90 minutes

2.Focusing on the Memory Section

Most people tend to focus more on Part D of the postal exam 473. It has 236 questions which can make it more daunting. However, the most challenging is Part B and Part C. All three sections test your memory and it is important to have a memorizing strategy. Just winging it will not produce the results you are looking for here.

It is a good idea to practice the memory sections and work out your mistakes. They might have the least questions compared to other sections but don’t underestimate the difficulty you can face in trying to memorize and answer them all within 7 minutes.

3.Developing a Strategy for Answering

Always have a strategy for answering the postal exam 473. The exam is so challenging that it can be difficult to complete it successfully without the help of one. It is a good idea to test out the strategy on a mock test as well. This allows you to work out any areas of concern and tweak your plan to make it stronger.

It is also a good idea to use a practice guide which allows you to mimic the same time constraints that a test will place on you. This makes it more likely that you will be able to complete the postal exam 473 with ease.

Remember, if you fail, it is not the end of the world; you can always retake it in another 6 months. Good luck!
